There is no First Thursday Shop-N-Sip this month because the first Thursday of the month is the first day of 2009!!
Instead there will plenty to do on New Years Eve, including the fun evening that the Bennett family has planned at Vieux Carre and the Afterthought!
Here are all the details:

2009 is just around the corner and we’re planning a festive New Year’s Eve welcome at Vieux Carré and the Afterthought. Join us for the fun!

We’re serving a special Chef’s Dinner in the restaurant 6-10 p.m. Wednesday, with delicious choices and suggested wine pairings for each course. (Reservations are strongly recommended! 663-1196)

At the Afterthought, popular local pianist Jim Dickerson will entertain from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the fantastic Munks taking the stage at 9.  We’re thrilled to have this great local band as our headliner for New Year’s Eve…they are hard to describe (alternative country, folk rock, jam band) but tons of fun for a wide-ranging audience. We’ll have party favors, drink specials all night and a festive Champagne toast at midnight! Cover charge for the night is $20.

Thanks to everyone for our best December ever, and we look forward to welcoming you for lunch, dinner and brunch in the New Year. All of us here wish you a happy, healthy 2009!

Art Show This Weekend

We’re thrilled to announce an exhibit of local artist Lisa Claas-James’ new “Confections” collection of fanciful dessert paintings, and we hope you’ll come by Vieux Carre this Saturday evening (Nov. 29) between 6 and 8 p.m. to take a look! Lisa will be there to talk about her work and we’ll have wine and hors d’oeuvres to kick off the holiday season with these enticing (non-fattening) sweet treats. Ten percent of art sales will be donated to the Arkansas Foodbank Network, and our family will match Lisa’s contributions to this most worthy cause. We apologize for the short notice but this all came together at the last minute. Come have fun!
